Hawzah News Agency- The fair drew a remarkable turnout and featured wide participation from dozens of local, Arab, and international publishing houses, showcasing hundreds of titles aimed at children and young adults.
Organizers stated that the event aims to promote a culture of reading among children and foster their intellectual and moral development through a rich collection of publications in literature, science, history, and biography, alongside interactive activities and cultural programs.
During the opening ceremony, Hajj Hassan Rashid Al-Abayechi, Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, remarked, “The fair seeks to instill a genuine culture for children inspired by the biography of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and rooted in noble human values. Through this, we hope to contribute to shaping well-rounded, morally grounded future generations''.
As one of Iraq’s leading cultural events dedicated to children, the Karbala International Children’s Book Fair continues to grow with each edition—attracting more publishing houses and expanding its offerings to better meet the educational and cultural needs of young readers.
